Alix Seyfarth (@seyfarthy) was working for a startup in Boston when a typhoon hit the Philippines and she decided to go volunteer to help rebuild local communities that were devastated by the storm. She didn’t realize it would change her life forever. What was just supposed to be a 10-day stint there turned into 14 months. Alix lived in conditions without regular electricity and WiFi, and where she took “bucket showers” to wash up.

Alix eventually turned that experience into a full time job with All Hands and Hearts, the nonprofit where she’s been working for the past six years. She’s been helping coordinate their efforts around the world. Alix has visited and helped out in the so many disaster situations and has an incredible story.

Talk about a Divergent Path! It was so great to have Alix share her amazing story.
