Bogdana Voicu (@bogdanamv) was born in communist Romania before the Iron Curtain fell. Growing up, she me that she didn’t even yearn for travel because it wasn’t even in the realm of possibilities. But her globetrotting half-brother changed all of that when he told her of the possibility to work abroad.

She packed up and moved to the Maldives and got a job in tourism. Then upon finishing university, she moved to Dubai and worked in hospitality. After winning the Green Card Lottery, she decided to move to the United States.

Bogdana has worked in tourism now for many years and now runs North American operations for G Adventures, a global tour company. In this episode, we discuss the state of the travel industry as well as her Romanian roots.
