Listen on:
David Azzolina has taught folklore at the University of Pennsylvania since the mid 90s. He is beloved by his students from over the years. I was lucky to take a class of his called Folklore and Sexuality. David is someone who really cares about his students and isn’t afraid to teach about difficult subjects.
In this episode, David talks about how Azzolina found comfort in Mormonism at a young age and followed that to Brigham Young University where he began studying folklore. And how he eventually wound up at the University of Pennsylvania. And we get into topics like the ethics of circumcision in the United States. It goes all over the place, but it was great to catch up with David and hear his thoughts!
